This collection is a departure from my ordinary genera of nature photography, but in many ways a welcome one. While my regular photography is studied, careful, shake-free and controlled, these images are about taking chances, looking for unusual lighting or scenes, pressing the shutter, waiving the camera around, and hoping. Given the long exposures and often bumpy ride, I’m never sure what I’ll get.
